About Our Site

This site is the online collection of some of the stories written by the grade 3-4 students of Middle P at Bellaire Primary School in Geelong, Victoria, Australia. The students first wrote these stories in their draft writing books before using Microsoft Publisher to make them into reproducible books. After the students drew the illustrations, the books were photocopied using a photocopier that can make double side, or duplex copies. (You might like to download a tutorial that tells how we used Publisher.)

The children then coloured the stories before scanning them. After cropping and manipulating the images with Irfanview, the students then imported the pictures into Microsoft Photo Story 3 before adding transitions and recording the narration.

To view our stories you will need to use Windows Media Player 10, (or later). If you haven’t got this player yet you can download it at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/10/default.aspx. If you are using a Mac to view this site then you will need to go to get the Flip4Mac player which will allow you to play the movies in Quicktime.

If you have a good broadband connection you may choose to download the full version of the story. If not we recommend that you choose the small screen version.

We hope that if you enjoy the stories you will use our blog to make comments. You may also like to read the comments that others have made.

P.S. We love watching the stories on our interactive whiteboard and you might too.
